About the Artist
Vik Muniz (b. 1961, São Paulo) began his artistic practice as a sculptor. Today, he is best known for his explorations of art historical imagery in a wide variety of materials. Muniz has exhibited at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum (New York), the Museum of Modern Art (New York), the Tate Modern (London) and the National Portrait Gallery (Washington, D.C.).
